Three books in which I look back on a difficult period for my family. One book is for my parents, one is for my brother and one is for myself. The books are written in letter format with a typewriter. They have a ceramic book cover and the pages are self-made as well.
The project Who is Themis? started off with a picture I took of a statue in Prague. The statue is from Themis, a Greek goddess of justice. In my project, I wanted to give women the space to tell their stories of injustice.
The project Avec Toi was at Amuse van Hier tot Ginder in Okkenbroek on the 4th and 5th of September. A collaboration with Andra Stoica for Supra-load, a group exhibition in Sickhouse. We made three puppets out of burlap sacks and candle wax. The light inside them form a heartbeat which will increase in speed as you come closer. A quite incomprehensible conversation between two puppets is playing in the background.
